Cereal Bars

Yaya my oldest loves helping me make these, he loves having them in his lunchbox for school.

55g golden caster sugar
85g butter
1 tablespoon golden syrup
175g porridge oats

30g sultanas

30g chopped apricots


  • Preheat oven to 150degC fan/ 170degC conventional.
  • Place the sugar, buter and folden syrup into a saucepan. Heat until the butter is melted and well mixed with the sugar and syrup
  • Stir in the the oats and dried fruit and press mixture in to a rectangular tin, 13 x 18cm
  • bake for 25 – 30minutes
  • Allow to cool in the tin for about 10 minutes before cutting into oblong bars
  • leave to cool completely before storing in an airtight container
