Tuna Fish Cakes

600g potatoes pealed and chopped
450g fish (canned tuna, drained)
1 egg yolk
Juice of 1/2 a lime
2 tbs chopped chivesPlain flour for shaping
2 tbs vegetale oil for frying


  • Boil potatoes in apn of slightly salted water for about 15 minutes or until tender
  • Drain well and mash till there no more lumps
  • Leave to cool completely with the lid off
  • Mix fish with mashed potatoes. Add the yolk, chives and season
  • Shape into neat little round patties using a little flour
  • Chill for at leat 10 minutes
  • Heat oil in a shallow frying pan, and carefully slide fish cakes
  • Cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side and drain on kitchen towel
